Importance of Ramadan in Holy Quran

Holy Quran was also revealed in the month of Ramadan which increases the importance of month in Islam. This how the importance of Ramadan is explained in the Holy Quran:

  • Oh you who believe! Fasting is prescribed to you as it was prescribed to those before you, that you may learn piety and righteousness. — 2:183
  • Fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may attain taqwaa. — 2:183
  • The month of Ramadhan [is that] in which was revealed the Qur’an, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion. So whoever sights [the new moon of] the month, let him fast it; and whoever is ill or on a journey - then an equal number of other days. Allah intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship and [wants] for you to complete the period and to glorify Allah for that [to] which He has guided you; and perhaps you will be grateful. — 2:185
  • Ramadan is the (month) in which the Quran was sent down, as a guide to mankind and a clear guidance and judgment (so that mankind will distinguish from right and wrong).. — 2:183

There are many Hadiths of Imam Bukhari, Imam Ahmad, Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim that tells the blessings a person can be gifted from Allah on observing this month. There are lot of good and spiritual things that a person can do in Ramadan ul Mubarak, we are enlisting few of them below:

  • Recite Holy Quran daily.
  • Offer Salah 5 times a day with nawafils.
  • Feed a fasting person.
  • Help poor and needy people.
  • Give Zakat to needy people around you.
  • Avoid unnecessary talking.
  • Don’t get engage in unnecessary activities.
  • Visit a sick Muslims and pray for them.

Try to do good acts as much as you can and avoid doing sins and haram activities. You need to protect all your body parts from committing any kind of sins, well this is not only for Ramadan you should do it in other months as well. Reason for emphasizing more is because if you do one sin it will be counted as 10 sins same goes for good deeds.

Ramadan Ashras

There are total three Ashras of Holy Ramadan and every Ashra has its importance. Below we are listing down all the 3 Ashras:

  • First Ashra – Days of Mercy / Rehmat Ka Ashra
  • Second Ashra – Days of Forgiveness / Maghfirat Ka Ashra
